The GGJ Sapporo venue will be held as part of the Sapporo Game Camp.
Sapporo Game Camp is a joint event of game companies based in Sapporo.

Global Game Jam (hereinafter referred to as GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event actually held at the venue, and is a hackathon specialized in so-called game production.
As the world becomes increasingly connected, we should be able to share our creative experiences together and express ourselves through game making!

A brief explanation of GGJ is as follows.
The theme is announced at the beginning of the event.
Develop a game based on the theme in 48 hours
The completed game is released to the whole world.
In 2012, GGJ was recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest game production event.
In 2018, the event was held at 803 venues in 108 countries, and more than 8,500 games were created.
The Sapporo venue further features the following.
The Sapporo venue has a wide range of participants, from beginners to professionals, and also welcomes a large number of visitors.
The opening ceremony to announce the theme and the presentation to share the completed works, as well as a reception and social gathering after the event. (Optional participation)
From 2019, it is now OK to officially gather members in advance to participate in the event.
This event is open to anyone, regardless of experience, who is interested in game production.

Q. What Unity version do you recommend?
We recommend 2022.3.11f1! Please download it as far in advance as possible!
Q. Is eating and drinking allowed in the venue?
A. Yes. Please refrain from eating anything with a strong odor.
Q. Is it possible to dispose of garbage?
A. Yes, garbage bags will be provided at the venue. We ask for your cooperation in properly separating and disposing of garbage according to the guidelines that will be announced later.
Q. I have no experience in game production.
A. Yes, you can participate.
Q. There are times when I cannot participate.
A. When the team is organized, please share the available time slots with the other members of the team.
Q. Can I borrow a computer?
A. We are working on it, but we expect to have a few computers available for loan.
Q. Can we participate from outside of Hokkaido?
A. Anyone is welcome to participate at the main venue, but please first check if there is a GGJ venue in your area.

Please note that remote participation is not available.
Q. Can I take pictures?
A. Photography is allowed inside the event space during the event. However, taking pictures in the aisles, escalators, elevators, and inside other tenants outside the space is not permitted as it may disturb other visitors.
Please handle portrait rights, etc. at your own risk.
Q. Is there any possibility that the event will be canceled?
A. The event will be canceled in the event of a force majeure disaster, a confirmed outbreak of a Class I-III infectious disease, or a strike at the facility that makes it impossible to proceed with the event.
In addition, if we observe a pandemic of influenza or a new type of coronavirus, we may cancel the event depending on the extent of the outbreak.
