We are asked, from the GGJ headquarters, that we hold GGJ totally online this year. Because of that, we ask you to agree to the following before you join:
Things that we could do offline, such as team forming, will be significantly harder online. But don't worry, we have prepared the virtual place for that! We are going to distribute several URLs to access those places, so be extra careful not to leak those URLs.
We do have the observers' tickets this time, but participating this time is totally free! You are allowed to jump into game development even if you registered using an observer's ticket, so if you are thinking about it for just a little bit, go for the registration!

Global Game Jam (hereinafter referred to as GGJ) is the largest event in the world among game jams that people gather at the venue and is a hackathon specializing in 'game production.'
Now that the world is getting more connected, we should be able to share creative experiences together and express ourselves through game production!
(Translation and quotation from the preface of the official website)
A brief description of GGJ is as follows.
- A theme will be announced at the start of the event
- Develop games in 48 hours based on the theme
- Publish the completed game to the whole world
In 2012, GGJ got the Guinness World Record as the world's largest game production event.
In 2018, more than 8,500 games were produced at 803 venues in 108 countries.
The Sapporo venue has the following features.
* There is a wide range of participants from beginners who have just begun to active professionals, and many visitors are accepted.
* In addition to the opening ceremony to announce the theme and a presentation to share the completed work, there will also be a social gathering and exchange meeting after the event. (Voluntary participation)
* Starting from 2019, we allow jammers to gather members in advance and participate.
At this venue, anyone who is interested in game production can participate regardless of their experience.
We welcome participation from those who do illustration, design, DTM, programming, planning, and more!
The procedure for participating is as follows. Please note that if you do not complete all of these, your registration may be canceled.
Please make sure to use an e-mail address that is easy for us to reach you.
When registering for participation, we consider that the following have been agreed upon.
